Product Introduction

The Man rider winch is a dedicated personnel lifting device used on drilling rigs to transport crew between the rig floor and the monkey board, crown block and other high-altitude working areas safely and smoothly. Our company offers Man rider winches in three drive types — electric, pneumatic and hydraulic — with two capacity options of 150kg and 500kg to meet various operating conditions and user preferences.

We can provide CCS and DNV inspection reports/certificates, CE certificates, EAC certificates, and other manriding qualification documents.

Technical Features

● Multiple safety protections: Standard equipped with overload protection, emergency stop, upper/lower limit protection, power-off braking and emergency release functions;

● Dual braking system: Primary brake engages automatically, secondary brake can be manually operated, providing high safety redundancy;

● Rope pressing mechanism: Prevents wire rope loosening under no-load conditions and extends service life;

● Compact structure: Small footprint and light weight, easy for installation and transportation in confined rig floor spaces;

● Explosion-proof design: Suitable for flammable and explosive hazardous areas such as drilling wellheads.

Key Differences

● Different power sources: Electric winch requires 380V/460V power supply; pneumatic winch requires 0.7~0.9MPa compressed air; hydraulic winch requires 16MPa hydraulic power. Available utility conditions determine their respective applicability.

● Different explosion-proof mechanisms: Electric winch is flameproof type (Ex db), achieving explosion-proof through flameproof enclosure; pneumatic and hydraulic winches are intrinsically safe, with no electrical components, eliminating the risk of electrical sparks at the source.

● Different operating performance: Electric winch offers the smoothest operation, lowest noise level (≤85dB) and is over 60% more energy-efficient than pneumatic winch; pneumatic winch is slightly noisier (≤90dB) but has the simplest and most reliable structure.

Application Scenarios

● Electric Man rider winch (Recommended): For drilling platforms with stable power supply. Features smooth operation, low noise, and no concerns about air line freezing or maintenance — the preferred choice for new rigs and upgrade retrofits;

● Pneumatic Man rider winch: For sites with ample air supply and high explosion-proof requirements, suitable for rigs with complete pneumatic equipment support;

● Hydraulic Man rider winch: Where hydraulic power is readily available, or where electric power or air supply is inconvenient.
